What is Fractional CO2 Skin Resurfacing?
Fractional CO2 skin resurfacing is a procedure that uses carbon dioxide (CO2) and a skin surface removing laser. Germantown Aesthetics is the only practice and training center in West Tennessee that offers the MiXto SX® Micro Fractional Laser Treatment, commonly referred to as Fractional CO2. Laser skin resurfacing reduces the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles and fine lines, sun damage, loose skin, and uneven texture and pigmentation.
Fractional CO2 skin resurfacing is a revolutionary laser treatment that requires much less downtime and is less aggressive than older laser resurfacing systems, but provides better results. While Fractional CO2 is not technically considered a surgical procedure as no incisions are made, anesthesia is still required to ensure patient comfort and safety.
What To Expect from Fractional Laser Treatment
Knowing what to expect in the first few days after your procedure can prepare you and address any concerns you may have. Immediately after your treatment, your face will likely feel sunburned. The next two days, your skin will appear almost tanned and will likely be swollen. During days three and four post-treatment, your skin will begin peeling and swelling will begin to subside.
To maximize your results, you will be provided with specific post-treatment instructions and a kit of products that will not only reduce swelling but also help your body rebuild healthy skin for a younger appearance and even complexion. We encourage each patient to follow a customized skincare regimen under the direction of our medical aesthetician and return in two to three weeks for an oxygen facial.
